Job Description

The Social Media Lead will act as the liaison between our products and our customers. You will be the voice, tone and moderator of the brand through content distribution and digital engagement to build brand presence and trust. You will also be responsible for creating, sharing and repurposing content that provides insightful and valuable information that inspires artists to join our community and eventually convert to customers. 

If you have a passion for content creation, social media trends and building an engaging community on social channels, this is the role for you! You will own the creation of content, including strategizing on creative briefs, creating new videos and graphics, and drafting engaging, educational captions.  Your objectives are to create brand awareness, increase social engagement and drive the growth of our online community. You will be interacting with our communities on a daily basis with a huge emphasis on engagement; getting our customers to share their feedback, experiences and in turn act as a bridge between our customers, product and customer experience teams. Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest and TikTok will be your workplace, along with the communities that occupy these spaces.  To be successful,  you will need to be a creator at heart, have a keen eye for emerging trends, be passionate about building community, and be entrepreneurial and resourceful. 

This role will also include sourcing and building relationships with influencers within the permanent makeup industry. 

The ideal candidate is a hard-working team player who will play a critical role in creating original digital content across various social media platforms, with key strengths in video editing, graphic design, photography and copywriting.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the COO to develop and refine our social media strategy with a focus on increasing brand awareness, credibility and audience engagement
  • Design and create relevant, creative and engaging social media content aligned with our brand values, voice and strategy
  • Follow content briefs and constantly provide creative solutions for content creation
  • Create posts, schedule, and manage activity on all social platforms (including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok and other applicable social platforms)
  • Craft engaging captions for all social media content
  • Perform social listening across platforms on a daily basis
  • Monitor social media growth and provide weekly KPI reports and analysis to our COO
  • Identify social media trends to implement on our platforms and within our community program
  • Proactively research, recommend and execute new social media strategies and tactics
  • Source and foster relationships with influencers within the permanent makeup industry
  • Collect and organize all UGC content 
  • Work closely in person with our community 
  • Collaborate with our Marketing team to support key marketing launches and initiatives
  • Liaise with our Customer Experience, Marketing and Product stakeholders to stay updated on new products and features
  • Stay up to date with permanent makeup and beauty trends

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years experience executing a social media strategy, including content creation, managing a social media brand presence, online community engagement and management with content creators, influencers and high-profile public figures – preferably in the beauty/e-commerce industry
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, their best practices and how to efficiently operate them (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter etc.)
  • Knows how to work within brand guidelines to produce content in an authentic online voice and inspire an engaged community
  • Graphic design skills - ability to create and adapt graphics for social media posts
  • Video and photo editing skills - proficient with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Is an excellent oral and written communicator; your spelling and grammar are impeccable
  • Strong attention to detail and a sense of personal accountability
  • Creative thinker with a demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into engaging social media content
  • Highly organized self-starter who can balance multiple priorities and drive results
  • Actively follow current and emerging social and content marketing trends
  • Highly curious and and have an experimental mindset to constantly test and iterate with the goal of improving our connection to the community
  • Entrepreneurial enthusiasm and grit, always willing to roll up your sleeves
  • Resourceful problem solver who figures out how to get things done, even if it means navigating through ambiguity
  • Experience with social media management and publishing platforms (GRIN influencer marketing platform and Dash Hudson social media management platform)
